13. Learn more about the key ingredient in sprouted broccoli seeds that makes them super nutritious. This YouTube "video" also offers some tips for growing your own sprouts at home. Watch here

14.  Tasty new weapon in fight against disease: a few forkfuls of sprouted vegetables could help protect against cancer, new research by Professor Ian Rowland and Chris Gill has shown. Eating just over 100 grams of tasty sprouted vegetables every day for a fortnight has been shown to have clear protective effects against DNA damage in human blood cells, according to the researchers. Read more  Tonic Attack comment: don't forget that broccoli sprout juice contains a massive amount more of the critical cancer fighting nutrients than the sprouts themselves.

15. Sulforophane induces thioredoxin through the antioxidant responsive element and attenuates retinal light damage in mice. Basically, more interesting research and powerful support for the broccoli sprout juice, which is loaded with sulforophane. Link to the research here

16. Sulforaphane treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Explosive research showing great gains and potential for those afflicted with autism when taking broccoli sprout juice, with the sulforaphane being the key ingredient.  The research was undertaken at the John Hopkins University, with one of the researchers being the renowned Dr. Paul Talalay who has undertaken much work on broccoli and its many properties.  You can access the article here

17. "Phase 1 study of multiple bio-markers for metabolism and oxidative stress after a one-week intake of broccoli sprouts". This is a study involving a small number of people, but with encouraging results.  "With treatment, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol decreased, and HDL cholesterol increased significantly. Plasma cystine decreased significantly. All subjects showed reduced PCOOH, 8-isoprostane and 8-OHdG, and increased CoQ(10)H(2)/CoQ(10) ratio. Only one week intake of broccoli sprouts improved cholesterol metabolism and decreased oxidative stress markers".

18. This is a research paper entitled "Broccoli sprouts, an exceptionally rich source of inducers of enzymes that protect against chemical carcinogens". The conclusions include this result "Large quantities of inducers of enzymes that protect against carcinogens can be delivered in the diet by small quantities of young crucifer sprouts (e.g., 3-day-old broccoli sprouts) that contain as much inducer activity as 10–100 times larger quantities of mature vegetables."

19. More research: "the molecular basis for chemoprevention by sulforaphane: a comprehensive review".

20. A comparative study. Great research! "Antiproliferative and antioxidant activities of common vegetables: The antiproliferative effect of vegetables was specific to cells of cancerous origin and was found to be largely independent of their antioxidant properties. These results thus indicate that vegetables have very different inhibitory activities towards cancer cells and that the inclusion of cruciferous and allium vegetables in the diet is essential for effective dietary-based chemopreventive strategies."

21. Wheatgrass reduces the transfusion requirements for Thalassemia Major patients.

22. Clinical and molecular evidence for the consumption of broccoli, glucoraphanin and sulforaphane in humans. Whilst this trial is good, it was only looking at the effect with broccoli. We know that the broccoli sprout juice has many times the quantity of the key nutrients, and in just one sachet.
