Steve Meyerowitz was known as “Sproutman”.  His energy and powerful insights into eating and health are there for all of us to take advantage of.  Sadly, this line is now historical as he died in 2015 in a motor car accident.  I feel privileged to have met and listened to him.

Over many years Steve researched and delivered support for the humble sprout. He fully appreciated the intense power that lay inside every sprouting seed and baby plant. He knew that there was vastly more value in the young and vibrant seedling than in a senescing old plant. The multiplication of nutritional value is almost beyond many people’s comprehension. The young always bat the old in the vitality stakes!

One of his favourite plants was wheat and he was perhaps the earliest and most widely revered to extol the virtues of wheatgrass juice. His bestselling book was “Wheatgrass, Nature’s Finest Medicine”. As he wrote, “muscular 1 tonne animals sustain themselves on it and science has found every nutrient in it. Could it be that the planet’s most ubiquitous vegetation is also its finest medicine?”

However, he was also well aware of the intense value of the broccoli sprout, appreciating that there is a huge lexicon of research detailing the potential possessed by broccoli sprouts for those wishing to either stave off or use them to help treat cancer.  We now know it goes far beyond this, being of enormous value in overall detoxing, and with autistics.

I thoroughly recommend you avail yourself of his knowledge. I have done, and knowing that the broccoli sprout juice has multiple times the quantity of sulforaphane, the key compound which does all the good work, than one finds in the sprouts, we can see what potential there is all people.
