I know that most people don’t actually have an affinity with their greens, but cutting them out of the diet, or more usually not including sufficient, will only lead to problems later, and they won't all be minor problems. The greens are literally your salvation, but few of us seem to realise it in time. Be warned!
Even if you’re working out regularly, and feel fit as a flea, be sure to get a load of leafy greens and green juice. Wheatgrass juice is also an ideal athletic food.
In addition to the fact that green juices contain good levels of protein, wheatgrass juice comes with many good nutrients, as do all leafy greens.
When I was producing my own wheatgrass juice, for over a year I was supplying Paula Radcliffe, with a large quantity every week. She was consuming up to 5 shots per day, and we all know she was running at the peak of her career performance at that time. When she moved to Monaco, obtaining my juice became impossible, and I’m not sure whether she is still drinking wheatgrass juice or not. I hope so, and a recent press article suggested she is!
You could further enhance your diet by including a good proportion of sprouts. Not the sort that you loathe to have at Christmas, but freshly sprouted seeds, which will contain massive and the increased quantities of all the key nutritional compounds, in their natural and highly digestible and utilisable state.
Believe it or not, those scrawny looking little green shoots can be up to 36% protein. They’re also full of enzymes and packed with nutrition. You can sprout your own quite easily at home, and so set up a successive series of seeds sprouting to ensure steady and even dietary input.
The ideal solution? Buy some wheatgrass juice and broccoli sprout juice now!
