I see the Government has launched its new cancer strategy. They suggest this will save 5,000 lives a year. At the heart of the strategy is early diagnosis and detection, important for all the c.298,000 newly diagnosed cases each year.

Not surprisingly, there is plenty of caterwauling about the rise in VAT that has come into effect today. Naturally, it was flagged some time ago, but it’s always bad when the pain actually hits.

Some people seem to want to regulate the life out of everything. Sadly they are often in positions of power! I’ve met a fair few of these sorts of people over time, and they really don’t understand what it is that makes somebody, and, more importantly, their body and mind and spirit, function biologically at an optimal level. There seems to be a preference for allowing everybody to run along on the same mundane boring, unhealthy plateau.

I am sure that many people are fearing the onslaught of the season of overindulgence and overspending, normally thought of as Christmas. Count me into that category, although I'm unlikely, as a fully paid-up member of the "bah humbug" brigade, to be laying myself open to association with either excess.

However, have you ever thought about eating sprouted grains or seeds? Why not?

So, while everything is white outside, and people raid the shops thinking they won’t get to eat for months if they don’t do it now, why don’t people think of creating their own food. Besides which, a great many are probably running with a pretty good reserve wrapped around their middle!
