Naturally, I'm keen to do all I can to promote the merits of our wheatgrass and broccoli sprout juice. When you have studied them for as long as I have, together with consuming them one becomes aware of the inherent benefit. Equally, hearing glowing reviews from consumers just adds to that understanding.

Often we get asked about how the wheatgrass and broccoli sprout juices can have two months shelf-life when they haven't been pasteurised or otherwise treated. It's an obvious question to ask, and one that has a nice easy answer.

As I am also an organic farmer, and have been for over 20 years, I have often heard the refrain that "it's only for the rich, and we couldn't afford it."  Well, whilst there are clearly some for whom this may be true, the broader question is about how do we prioritise our health and the diet we choose to maintain and fuel this wonderful creation, our bodies.

Sometimes what one needs to say, or wants to say, is neatly done  by somebody else! So, why create new content when they've already done it. These people have created a page on their website, and this is what they say.

They're trying to make simple statements as to why wheatgrass juice is so sensible for people to drink. So, here is what Madam Toussaint says.

I'm sure that the old joke about 100 consultants in a room coming up with 100 different solutions may well hold true in the debate over how we should eat our food. Even, about what we should eat.

There was much media coverage last week about the arrival on the market of a new variety of broccoli.

There is some confusion, and perhaps some overuse, of the word "superfood". However, the report in the Financial Times referred to this new broccoli variety as a "superfood", owing to it being a "hybridised variety, richer in the chemicals linked to a reduced risk of cancer and cardiovascular problems".

Truisms

Seen elsewhere but highly relevant!

Laugh – as loudly as you can, as often as you can, at everything

Give – as much as you can, always. When you think you’ve given all you can, give more

Love – everyone, truly, madly, deeply and often

Serve – everyone, in the way only you can

Forgive– always, especially those you think don’t deserve it

Talk about political flip-flops. Once known for his love of barbecue and impromptu stops at McDonald's, amongst other things, former President Bill Clinton has radically changed his diet, significantly reduced his weight and is immensely proud to have improved his health.

All this began when he had to receive a life-saving quadruple heart bypass. The former junk food loving President, who turned 65 recently, now refers to himself as a vegan, and now eats no meat, eggs, dairy, and very little in the way of oils.

I thought it would be excellent to print the brief outline of Phillip Day's updated excellent book, Health Wars. I've always been very impressed with the depths with which Phillip investigates a subject, and the endless logical and commonsensical ways in which he assesses, addresses, rationalises and then outlines how to deal with many of the common problems we're all facing today, in trying to maintain ourselves in a healthy state.

So, here's what he says, with a link at the end to take you to his website should you wish to get the book and go further.
